For the daredevils out there, the Colorado Trail is a must-see. Spanning from Denver to Durango, it offers a jaw-dropping 88 miles of spectacular scenery to feast your eyes upon, all within the San Juan National Forest.

The Vallecito Creek Trail is a solid choice for those who are just starting out or looking for an easier hike. This 3.3-mile path follows Vallecito Creek and offers amazing views of the stunning mountain ranges and verdant forests that surround it. 

Fish Durango

Want to spend a fantastic day outside? Head over to Durango, Colorado, for some sweet fishing action! The landscape is so diverse that there’s something for every angler, no matter your skill level. It’s got lakes and rivers aplenty, so there’s always a new place to drop your line and try your luck. 

You’ll find quite a variety of fish here too! There are trophy-size trout all year round, hiding in the San Juan mountain high country or in the semi-arid San Juan River tailwater. 

The Animas River in Durango is home to plenty of rainbow and brown trout that range from 14 to 18 inches. Looking for something a bit smaller? Check out the Pine River and Piedra River. Just remember, you’ll need a special permit to make a catch!

You can also try your luck at Lake Nighthorse or Electra and Haviland Lakes. Want to reel in some rainbow trout or kokanee salmon? Give Vallecito Reservoir a shot! With so many options and great fishing spots, Durango is the perfect destination for any angler.

The Durango Hot Springs Resort & Spa is definitely the hottest spot in town. You can find it right off Highway 550 and Trimble Lane on County Road 203, and it’s got geothermal springs, spa treatments, and even accommodations if you wanna stay for a night or two. It’s the ultimate jam to enjoy all that Durango has to offer and put your feet up for a bit.

If you’re into roughin’ it a little bit, then you need to hit up the Pinkerton Hot Springs. They’re about 7 miles north of downtown Durango off Highway 550, and they’ve got that special, natural charm with a neat-looking rock pile that marks the spot. The mineral-packed water is gonna soothe your soul and help you relax.

Snag Some Cider in Mancos

Not too far from Durango, tucked away in the small town of Mancos, lies a hidden secret – the cider capital of the world! (Okay, not really, but it’s still worth checking out!) Mancos is home to our local favorite, Fenceline Cider & Wine
